Important notice: This is an independent blank design template created exclusively for lawful design, testing and educational purposes. It is not an EDF-issued document, cannot confirm an address or identity, and must not be submitted as an official utility bill.

About This Template

EDF is a major energy supplier serving residential customers throughout metropolitan France. It supplies electricity and natural gas, including the regulated electricity offer known as Tarif Bleu as well as market-based energy offers. Customers who hold both electricity and gas contracts with EDF may receive the two energy services on a single combined invoice.

This blank EDF France bill template reproduces the general visual organization of a French household energy statement, including areas for contract references, service information, consumption summaries, subscription charges, taxes and payment details. All customer information and transaction values are intentionally left blank.

What This Template Is For

This template is suitable for:

  • UI and UX mockups: Display a utility-billing screen inside an app, dashboard or website prototype.
  • QA testing: Test document-upload fields, file previews, format validation and responsive layouts with non-personal sample material.
  • Education and training: Explain how French electricity and gas statements organize consumption, subscriptions and statutory charges.
  • Design portfolios: Present document-layout, typography, information hierarchy and interface-design skills.

It must remain clearly identified as a sample template and should contain only fictional placeholder information.

If You Need a Real EDF France Bill

An official EDF invoice can only be issued in connection with an active customer contract. EDF customers can sign in to the official EDF France customer area to view and download their invoices. The customer area also provides access to contract information, payment settings and an official dated housing certificate.

Customers who cannot access their account should contact EDF customer service and request assistance with retrieving the required document.

When renting a property and the utility contract is held by the landlord or another household member, suitable alternatives may include:

  • A dated accommodation certificate or landlord letter
  • The account holder’s legitimate utility statement
  • A rental agreement
  • Another document accepted by the organization requesting address evidence

Acceptance rules vary, so confirm the required document type directly with the requesting organization.

Why You Shouldn’t Buy a Completed Utility Bill Online

Purchasing a completed document and presenting it as an official supplier-issued statement is fraudulent misrepresentation. It does not create an EDF customer account, energy contract, meter history or matching supplier record. Legitimate EDF invoices are generated through active contracts and are downloadable from the customer’s official account, so an independently completed file cannot replace the original document.

The safe solution is to retrieve the invoice from EDF, contact customer service or ask the requesting organization which alternative documents it accepts.

Verified EDF France Billing Facts

Before preparing the structure below, the following provider-specific details were confirmed:

  1. EDF may place electricity and gas from two EDF contracts on one combined energy invoice.
  2. Electricity customers in France may choose between EDF’s regulated Tarif Bleu and market-based offers; the French retail electricity market has been open to competition since 2007.
  3. EDF electricity consumption is billed in kWh, while gas meter readings recorded in cubic metres are converted into kWh for billing.

EDF France Bill Structure

A typical EDF residential energy bill may contain the following sections:

  1. Customer, contract and supply references
The bill identifies the customer account, billing address and energy supply location. Electricity contracts may include the Point de Livraison, or PDL, while gas contracts may include the Point de Comptage et d’Estimation, or PCE. These identifiers relate to the supplied property rather than simply the customer’s postal address.
  2. Subscribed power and tariff option
Electricity details may show the subscribed power level and the selected pricing option. Depending on the contract, this may include an option such as Base or a time-based structure with separate peak and off-peak consumption periods. EDF offers both the publicly regulated Tarif Bleu and independently priced market offers.
  3. Subscription and consumption charges
The invoice separates the fixed subscription from variable energy consumption. EDF states that electricity subscription charges may be billed in advance, while consumption is calculated by multiplying the recorded number of kWh by the applicable unit price.
  4. Meter readings and consumption type
Consumption may be based on a distributor reading, a customer-submitted reading or an estimate when no usable reading is available. EDF invoices can also indicate upcoming automatic readings from Linky electricity meters or Gazpar gas meters.
  5. Electricity and gas measurement differences
Electricity is directly presented in kWh. Natural gas meters record usage in cubic metres, after which the volume is converted into kWh for invoicing. When both services are supplied by EDF, their subscriptions and usage can appear within the same statement.
  6. French energy taxes and contributions
Electricity sections may include the electricity excise, the Contribution Tarifaire d’Acheminement and VAT. Gas sections may include the natural-gas excise, the Contribution Tarifaire d’Acheminement and VAT. Since August 1, 2025, France has applied 20% VAT to energy subscriptions, consumption and associated taxes and contributions.
  7. Summary, payments and consumption history
The total section can show the amount excluding VAT, VAT, previous monthly payments and the remaining balance. EDF statements may also provide a monthly consumption history in kWh and information about the next invoice or meter-reading period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this as a real EDF bill?

No. This is an independently created blank design resource, not a document issued through an EDF energy contract. It cannot demonstrate energy service, account ownership, residency or payment history.

Why can’t I fill it in and use it as an official document?

Adding a name, address or account number does not connect the file to EDF’s customer records. Presenting independently entered information as supplier-issued evidence would be fraudulent misrepresentation. A legitimate invoice must correspond to an actual energy contract, supply point, meter activity and provider account.

How do I get a real EDF France bill?

Sign in to the official EDF customer area, open the invoices or documents section and download the required file. EDF confirms that customers can consult and download their invoices online. Customers without account access should contact EDF customer service.

Can EDF electricity and gas appear on the same invoice?

Yes. When a customer has both an electricity contract and a gas contract with EDF, the two services may be included on one energy invoice.

Does the template contain personal information?

No. The downloadable files are blank and should be completed only with clearly fictional placeholder data for lawful demonstrations and testing.
