Why PG&E Is Your Only Option
PG&E is an investor-owned regulated utility, not a city-owned municipal utility. In most addresses inside PG&E’s Northern and Central California service territory, residents do not choose a competing delivery utility the way customers may choose retail electricity providers in deregulated markets such as Texas. PG&E’s electric and natural gas service, delivery infrastructure, and approved rates are regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission. Some California communities may use a Community Choice Aggregation program for electricity generation, but PG&E usually remains the delivery utility, billing channel, and grid operator for the address.
About This PGE Template
This PG&E bill template is a blank layout based on the type of utility billing format used for electric and natural gas services in California. Pacific Gas and Electric Company was incorporated in California in 1905 and is based in Oakland. The company serves a large part of Northern and Central California, including electric and natural gas customers across a broad service area. This template is made for design, testing, and educational workflows where a non-official sample layout is needed.
What This Template Is For
Use this PG&E utility bill template for:
- UI/UX mockups for dashboards, billing pages, or document upload screens.
- QA testing of file upload forms, PDF previews, and document-type selectors.
- Educational examples showing how regulated utility bills are generally structured.
- Internal training materials for designers, support teams, or product testers.
If You Need a Real PG&E Bill
If you need an official PG&E bill, sign in through the PG&E official website and download your bill from your PG&E account. You can also use PG&E’s official billing and payment tools to view account balance, payment history, start or stop service, and billing support options. Do not buy or use a completed utility bill from third-party sellers. Only documents issued directly through PG&E’s own account system should be used for official purposes.
Why You Shouldn’t Buy a Completed Utility Bill Online
Buying a completed utility bill to prove an address is fraud. It misrepresents account ownership, service address, billing history, and the relationship between the customer and the utility provider. It also usually fails because organizations may request original account access, newer statements, or direct confirmation from the service provider. If you need proof of service, use only a bill issued directly by PG&E through your official account.
PG&E Bill Structure
A PG&E bill is different from bills in fully deregulated retail electricity markets. In Texas-style retail markets, customers may see a separate retail electricity provider relationship, while the delivery utility is a different company. In PG&E’s service territory, PG&E is the regulated utility responsible for delivery service, infrastructure, account billing, and approved utility charges. Depending on the address, the electric portion may show generation-related charges from PG&E or a Community Choice Aggregation program, while PG&E delivery charges remain part of the bill. PG&E bills may also include natural gas charges, taxes, franchise fees, public purpose program charges, rate plan details, usage history, service address, account number, billing period, and total amount due.

FAQ
Can I use this as a real bill?
No. This is only a blank design template. It is not issued by PG&E and cannot prove service, address, account ownership, or billing history.
Why can’t I fill it in and use it?
Because filling in a blank template and presenting it as an official utility bill would be fraud. A design file is not a provider-issued document and does not create a real PG&E account, real service history, or real billing record.
How do I get a real PG&E bill?
Log in to your PG&E account through the PG&E official website and download your bill from the official billing area. You can also contact PG&E support if you cannot access your account or need help retrieving past statements.
Can I choose a different electricity provider in Northern and Central California?
Not for PG&E delivery service at an address inside PG&E’s regulated service territory. PG&E is the utility responsible for the local delivery infrastructure and billing relationship in its service area. Some communities may have a Community Choice Aggregation option for electricity generation, but PG&E typically still handles delivery, grid service, and the monthly bill.
